I have some super, exciting news!
Jesus Loves Me Devotions is getting a huge makeover!
Before I give you all of the details, let me just tell you about the history of JLM.
Six or seven years ago, I felt led to start a blog and offer devotions for busy moms to read with their young children. I created my first devotional pack on Creation, came up with a name, created a Blogger blog, and posted it for the whole wide world to see.
I worked for awhile on this blog, but you have to know me, people. I am not an awesome follow-througher (Hmmm…the red squiggly line says that’s not a word, but I kinda like it!) I stopped working on the blog for awhile. I started working full-time outside of the home. I started back working on the blog. I stopped working on the blog.
And this has gone on for the past few years. During that time, I have transitioned to a fancier blog, created sixteen devotional packs, grew my Facebook page, and learned a ton about blogging. However, even amidst all of those accomplishments, my blog would set dormant for months on end.
And I knew that wasn’t right.
I knew God had called me to blog. And to blog at Jesus Loves Me. I knew He had called me to write devotions for young children.
But, I had a Jonah moment. I argued with God. I wasn’t equipped. I was too busy working outside of the home full-time. My kids were too young for me to be giving spiritual advice to other moms.
This past November, our church had a visiting preacher that gave a message that really convicted me. I had been called to a ministry, however, I was like Jonah and coming up with every excuse in the book and running the opposite direction.
I wondered what would happen if I finally said a 100%, feet first, all in, resounding yes. So, I said yes. Only it was about a 75% yes.
For 2018, I wanted things to be different. I wanted to say YES to God. A 100% yes.
I struggled with the same insecurities as before. I wasn’t qualified.
I prayed. I thought about changing my blogging direction, while still keeping the devotions. I prayed some more. Decided against starting a new blog. Prayed more.
After much prayer and thought, I finally made the decision to jump in 100%. I got serious, y’all!
I realized that with my children being seven and eleven, I am not super qualified in some areas. But, my kids were once younger.
For my full-time job, I am the head teacher of a group of toddler-aged children. I have worked in a preschool for five years. I have a ton of experience with young children.
And that is why I am changing the focus of my blog. While I will still offer free devotions, the focus ages for the blog will now be 0-5.
I hope to offer the following:
- Free devotions for busy, exhausted moms to do with their children ages 0-5
- Encouragement for said exhausted moms
- Coffee, also for said exhausted moms…ahem, maybe not that one. But it’s a good thought, huh?
- Christian resources for ages 0-5
- A community for moms to turn to when they are feeling stuck
- And a whole lotta more!
Over the next few weeks, you will see a huge difference in my blog. I will be re-branding, re-writing, and re-hauling!
And, drum roll please…When I relaunch my blog, there will be a ton of giveaways! Yay!
When can you expect the relaunch? March 12th will be the big day!
If you are a mother of children ages 0-5, I would love for you to drop me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and let me know what type of content you would love to see shared on my blog or on Facebook. What do you struggle with?
For the next few weeks, my blog might become unavailable. But I hope you will join me on my Facebook page where I will be sharing content and keeping you updated on the relaunch. Click the button below to follow along!
